Let me start off by asking you a simple question: Did you like Lode Runner, the platform game from back in 80s? If your answer went something like “you know that’s right”, then you are going to like Gold Sprinter, a game published by Alawar Entertainment. You are going to like it because it is a remake of the classic Lode Runner game.

In the Lode Runner game you controlled a stick figure, ran around amaze and had to collect all the gold while avoiding the guards who were trying to catch your stick figure. After you collected all the gold, you had to go to the top of the screen to progress to the next level.

In the Gold Sprinter game you control Sprinter, the yellow protagonist of the game that’s dressed in green overalls. You have to collect all the gold and all the diamonds on a level to move to the next one. Your job is made difficult by monsters and tricky platforms.

You will have to run, you will have to dig, you will have to collect special power-ups and bonuses, you will have to do whatever it takes to evade the monsters, negotiate the tricky platforms, collect all the gold and diamonds, and progress to the next level. And speaking of levels, the game has a grand total of 100 levels.

Gold Sprinter has a Kids Mode that offers easy gameplay to, well, children.

Please note that Gold Sprinter is not freeware, it is only free to try. This means that after you download and install the game, you cannot play it free of charge for as long as you want. You can play it free of charge, but only for a trial period of 60 minutes. Once that trial period is over, you will have to pay for a license to keep playing the game.
